At Ember & Co., we take food safety and product integrity seriously across all of our handcrafted products — including Chili Crisps, Chili Flakes, and Chili Powders. We are committed to clarity, transparency, and premium production standards so you always know exactly what you're enjoying.
1) Food Safety & Production Standards
- All products are crafted in licensed, inspected, food-grade facilities following strict sanitation and quality controls.
- Chili Crisps are low-moisture, oil-based products formulated to remain shelf-stable until opened.
- Chili Flakes and Chili Powders are naturally shelf-stable, dry spice products when protected from moisture and humidity.
- No artificial preservatives, artificial dyes, or artificial flavoring are used in standard recipes.
2) Storage & Handling Guidelines
Before Opening (All Products):
- Store sealed containers in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and sunlight.
Chili Crisps:
- After opening, refrigerate for best freshness and longevity.
- Stir before use — natural settling is normal.
- Use only clean, dry utensils to avoid introducing moisture or contaminants.

Note on Cold Conditions: Due to our all-natural avocado oil base, the oil may become cloudy or thicken when exposed to cold temperatures (refrigeration or winter shipping). This does not affect quality, safety, or flavor.
If thickened or solidified, allow the jar to rest at room temperature until it liquifies and stir before use. Full flavor remains intact.
Chili Flakes & Chili Powders:
- Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry pantry after opening.
- Avoid shaking containers directly over steaming pots to prevent moisture buildup.
- Because our spices contain no anti-caking agents, light clumping may occur over time — this is normal. If clumps form, simply break apart with a clean, dry utensil.
- Discard if moisture accumulation or off-odors develop.
Best-By Dates: All products include a labeled Best By date. Quality may diminish after this date if opened or stored improperly.
3) Ingredients & Allergen Disclosure
- Products are crafted using simple, premium ingredients such as avocado oil (Chili Crisps only), dried chili peppers, salt, and natural spices depending on flavor.
- All products are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, and contain no MSG or artificial preservatives.
Allergen & Cross-Contact Notice:
- Core recipes do not intentionally contain major allergens (milk, eggs, wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, or sesame).
- Products are made in facilities that may also handle soy, nuts, sesame, or seeds during other production runs.
- Trace cross-contact is possible — individuals with severe allergies should consult a qualified healthcare provider.
- Always refer to your product's printed label for the most up-to-date, batch-accurate ingredient and allergen information.
4) Consumption & Usage Advisory
- Products contain capsaicin — consume responsibly and adjust to your personal heat tolerance.
- If sensitive to spicy foods or gastrointestinal conditions, begin with a small amount.
- Avoid contact with eyes, open wounds, or mucous membranes.
- Keep out of reach of young children unless supervised.
- Discontinue use and contact us if spoilage, unusual odor, mold, or texture concerns arise.
5) Policy Updates
- This policy may be updated based on production improvements, sourcing adjustments, or regulatory changes.
- The posted "Last Updated" date will reflect when revisions have been made.
